No we're not talking about a resurgence of the Mods and Rockers. No, we're talking about Brighton Twisted Market.

Brighton Twisted Market is a new event to hit the south coast. Currently scheduled for the last Sunday on an even month, Brighton Twisted Market offers a market and an afterparty for the princely sum of £5.

Over the past few days we've been kinda busy. We've been rolling out a pile of software updates and upgrades and changes and stuff.

So what's new?
Well our blog address is now blog.dom-estics.co.uk (although the old link works just fine too dom-estics.blogspot.com.

We've added the following:

Saturday 25th Feb we're going to be back in Manchester for the Alternative & Burlesque Fair, this is the second time we'll of traded at this event.

One of the perks (?) of the job is the travelling. No not the endless miles of motorway or cross channel hops in a blue and yellow or orange plane, but the getting out and meeting new people. The Irish have a phrase "there are no strangers, just friends you haven't made yet" and we think this is true. A website, no matter how advanced, cannot match being able to touch and feel a product. To hold it in your hands, to get a demonstration etc. This is the bit we enjoy, the looks on the faces, the ear to ear grins. In the digital age its great to go out and meet people.

So, what will we be taking to Manchester?

We'll have wands and attachments from Wand Essentials and Adam & Eve, electroplay from E-Stim Systems Ltd, Straps and implements from Modern Spanking and Issue 62 of Skin Two Magazine.

Sunday 5th February we took delivery of a new product, from one of the most established names in Fetish. As of Issue 62, DOM-estics.co.uk is an official retailer of Skin Two Magazine. This beautifully produced glossy full colour magazine is a far cry from its humble beginnings as a 16 page hand stapled black and white magazine that was first published in 1984.

Issue 62 of Skin Two Magazine covers events from the Skin Two Rubber Ball to Barcelona Fetish Weekend via The German Fetish Ball, Kink In The Caribbean and more. Add in an interview with Dita Von Teese by Roxanne Dorrington, a report on Fetish in Australia and more.

One thing that we at DOM-estics.co.uk can never do is rest on our laurels, take our fingers off the pulse, you get the idea. So we always have our eyes and ears open for new products. For those of us who follow us on Twitter (@dom_estics), we heard of a product called Give Lube, which was recommended by the very lovely KatieK (#nsfw). This Saturday sees the welcome return of Club Rub and the theme is Saints & Sinners. This is such a wide ranging theme as it be applied to tarts and vicars, cops and robbers, religious icons, devils, angels, and so much more.

For this month Rub will be at the Area Club, 67 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TP. Area has a massive church window, and is about 100 yards from both Vauxhall Station and the Lightbox Club.

Those dressed as Saints will receive a gift on the door and the sinners can visit Sister Grim in the confessional.

Fetish Speed Dating will take place under the Church Window at 11pm.

DOM-estics.co.uk boss Nick commented "Since we first went to the Norwich Alternative Sale in February 2011 this has become a must attend event for us. It's nice to get off the regular path of monthly visits to LAM (London Alternative Market) and SWAMP (South West Alternative Market & Party) and do the regional events. Norwich Alternative Sale is great for us, as we get to meet new people, both traders and customers, and have a day out at the same time." Norwich Alternative Sale started in the back room of a pub in October 2010 and quickly grew. Oops We've Sold Too Many

Yes its a good thing, selling out of a product. It means its priced correctly, provides value for money etc. But being sold out means that there's none to sell. Normally its just a quick call or email to the wholesaler/distributor with the phrase "send me more". This is the usual scenario and it works just fine. Occasionally the answer is "we've got none left in the country, more are on the way" still not a problem, just about a seven day delay. On some vary rare occasions we get "the manufacturers sold out and the factory is doing another production run". This can mean a 3 month delay at times as you can't just go to the factory and say "I want x number of these" unfortunately.

We've just been notified of a last minute venue change for Club Rub, this Saturday 18th June.

Club Rub will now be held at Protocol, 6a South Lambeth Place, Vauxhall, London, SW8 1SP (just round the corner from the Lightbox!)
The entrance to the club is to the left of the entrance to "Fire" club and under the bridge.

Public transport is very well suited, as Vauxhall train and underground stations are mere footsteps away.

The theme is Medical Emergency.

We will have a new range of matching cuffs and collars as well as some imaginative nipple clamps showing for the first time.

May Update

I'm writing this having just got home after a fantastic night at Club Rub. The vibe was brilliant, people were enjoying themselves (and I got to shine a lot of latex :-p). It's almost time to hit the pit, but I am still buzzing so I thought I'd do a quick update since my last post.
It's been a busy few weeks, even with the chaos of Easter and the Royal Wedding now a distant memory, at London Alternative Market on 1st May we launched "VegPlay", our fruit and veg stall with a twist - there will be more to come from VegPlay too. With the day after being a non-school day too I got to enjoy watching customers putting their new purchases through the paces, as well as chilling and catching up with people.
The weekend of the 7th & 8th was a busy one that litteraly covered the width of the country. We visited Norfolk for Norwich Alternative Sale on the 7th and SWAMP in Bristol the following day. It really is great to visit new places and make new friends, as well as make contact with old friends and fellow traders alike. That week also allowed for a vrief catch-up over a burger with Latex 101. Finally, event-wise we were asked to be guest crew at The Night Of The Senses, which was very enjoyable, again catching up with old friends, oh and also suggesting a Sybian race.
Website wise we have added our events calendar to the site, as well as Twitter (http://twiter.com/dom_estics) and Blog feeds. Our new birch has been added, as well as a pile of House Of Eros products. You can also view our most viewed products too now.

I can't believe that it's almost summer, nearly a third of the year has gone!

Our next event is London Alternative Market on 1st May.
Quite conveniently situated on a long weekend with the Royal Wedding Bank holiday on the Friday and the May Day bank holiday on Monday May 2nd.

We'll be at LAM, the sole London Market that we currently trade at, as usual. There's a couple of surprises we have planned, which will be revealed on the day.

We will have our usual display of Latex 101 menswear, amazing electroplay products from E-Stim, Fetish Foundry stainless steel and so much more.

London Alternative Market is London's first community-supporting market project held on the first Sunday of every month. The LAM is a great place to come and find out about alternative lifestyles, to meet and socialise with those with similar interests. We welcome all lifestyles including straight, bi, gay, lesbian, poly, TVs, TSs, Masters, Mistresses, slaves, ponies, maids, pets, ABs and even those that are just mildly kinky or just plain curious.

London Alternative Market is at Union, 66 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TP, the doors open at midday until six and entrance is £4. Since there is no school on Monday why not stay for the LAM After Party as well, tickets available from the LAM desk.

We're proud to say that we have been selling (and wearing) the really high quality latex clobber that Latex 101 makes for well over a year now. We take Latex 101 clothing accessories with us where ever we can, and we will always have a rail of Latex 101 stuff at London Alternative Market. We've also been trained by the ever so patient Richard and Stewart of Latex 101 into being able to advise on latex care. So if you want to ask a question please do.

Barcodes?

So whats with the barcodes appearing everywhere?

Like this one?

It's called a QR (quick read) code, and was originally developed by Toyota for doing parts things. It's essentially a 2 dimensional version of the common or garden barcode that we have all got used to over the last 20 or so years.

Step forward a few years to smart phone development and several types of modern smartphones, such as the Blackberry, Android and the Apple one have the ability to scan these barcodes with their cameras (although you may need an additional app).

So what are these things used for?

All kinds of things, you can make a VCard with your details (its much easier to scan a barcode than type in all that information), you can share your Social Media addresses, money off couples.

Look out for them all over the place.

There are some things that we may remember our parents or grandparents or even great grandparents having around the house. And its not until you get older and get kinky and explore yourself that you see one of those items again and just think "WTF!"
